The Duke of Edinburgh Award
|
Excitement, Fun, Recognition, Friends, Achievements . . . The Duke of Edinburgh's award can offer you all these things ! What does it involve ? There are three levels of Award - Bronze , Silver and Gold and at each level you complete four sections, Service, Expeditions, Skills and Physical Recreation. At the Gold level you also take part in a Residential Project. You can choose what activities to follow and you will find that some of the hobbies and interests you already have will count towards your Award. These might include football, drama, art, dancing, computing, cooking, languages, music, swimming, collecting items or studying a topic. There are no exams, the Award is about using your leisure time and having fun! The Expeditions usually take place from April to October with training period over the winter months. |
